Kelly Mann
A life long Victorian, Kelly Mann has long appreciated the value sport can bring to individuals and community. His passion for amateur sport began as a baseball little leaguer and continued in his role as President and CEO of the BC Games Society. During his twenty six year career Mann, now retired, has contributed to several Boards and committees in the provincial and local sport realm. He currently chairs 94 Forward, the Victoria Commonwealth Games Legacy Fund. Mann is an honoured member of this Hall and the B.C. Sport Hall of Fame in the Builders’ category.
“I’m excited to be part of such a worthwhile community organization that recognizes achievement on so many levels and in so many sports. I look forward to working with the rest of the board and contributing to the ongoing success of the GV Sports Hall of Fame.”
Jane Potter
After a long career in public recreation in Victoria, including positions at Panorama Recreation Centre, Oak Bay Recreation Centre, and the Crystal Pool and Wellness Centre, as well as Marketing Coordinator for Parks, Recreation, and Culture at the City of Victoria, Jane is a big believer in the role of sports in the community. “Whether it’s Saturday morning soccer for the kids, swimming lessons for a first-time adult learner, or attending a hockey game on a friday night, sport and recreation is a great way to bring people together.” Now self-employed as a business owner with her husband, Kent, Jane has recently turned her attention to the Arts community as a podcaster, writer, and educator with Vancouver Opera. Jane holds a BA in English and Linguistics from Uvic, and a Masters in Creative and Critical Writing from the University of Gloucestershire in the UK.
“I’m excited to be part of such a worthwhile community organization that recognizes achievement on so many levels and in so many sports. I look forward to working with the rest of the board and contributing to the ongoing success of the GV Sports Hall of Fame.”
Anne Batey
Born in Victoria, Anne has always been deeply connected to the city and its sporting community and culture. Anne is a University of Victoria graduate and went on to have a long career as a nurse in the city. She played field hockey for the UVic Vikettes and spent many days, nights and weeks on the sidelines cheering, volunteering or running the officials technical table. Anne's husband, Ian Batey, has been a valuable builder for sport in Victoria sitting on numerous boards and committees that have helped sport grow in the city. Together the Batey's have given much of their time and energy to helping others in the city. Ian has been a long-time sponsor of the Greater Victoria Sports Hall of Fame and now, Anne, is giving her time to the Board.
