In 1911 the Victoria Yacht Club became the Royal Victoria Yacht Club and in 1912 they acquired their present day property in the newly developing Uplands. Pro hockey came to the capital on Jan 2, 1913 with Lester Patrick's Victoria Senators. There was a hiatus during the First World War but amateur hockey restarted in 1919 with four clubs, the Foundation, the Senators, the Two Jacks and the Elks. This same year saw the Victoria Foundation Lacrosse team win the Mann Cup.
